Auckland Champs Netball

On Thursday 14 August, the Y7A Girls Netball team competed at the Auckland Champs, after qualifying second at the South Eastern Zone competition. It was always going to be a tough day, coming up against the top netball schools in Auckland – and it certainly proved to be just that. We faced some amazing teams but gave our best effort in every match. The girls showed grit, resilience, determination, and a love for the game, making it a fun and memorable day for all.

As the day went on, our connections on court grew stronger, and the highlight was our win against Marina View, where we produced some beautiful play down the court and showed real hunger on defence. We finished 14th overall in the Year 7 girls grade – a result to be proud of.

A special thank you goes to our supporters, who brought so much spirit to the day, and acted as the girls’ personal coaches  throughout the season. A huge thanks also to Mrs Jess Clayton for her hard mahi with Somerville netball this season and for being our amazing manager on the day.
