Motutapu Island

As part of our outdoor education programme, Year 7 students participate in a four day camp on beautiful Motutapu island. These camps are a highlight for all our new students each year. The students will participate in many exciting and challenging activities including sailing, kayaking, climbing, high ropes, archery and other fun team building activities.

Camp 1 - Tuesday 17 - Friday 20 March

Rooms 24, 25, 26, 27 & 29

Camp 2 - Tuesday 24 - Friday 27 March

Rooms 5, 6, 7, 8 & 28

Camp 3 - Monday 30 March - Thursday 2 April

Rooms 9, 10, 11, 12 & 30

2026 Camp Cost

The full cost for each student to attend camp is $525.00 and is made via KINDO, our school’s online payment system. A minimum payment of $50 is required when giving informed consent on Kindo.

The final day to confirm your child’s participation in the camp is Friday 20 February 2026. Payment options that include paying the camp off over time, can be discussed and organised with Chris Hall, DP Rangitoto & Kawarau Whānau, chall@somint.school.nz or Steph Ready, DP Ruapehu and Aoraki, sready@somint.school.nz.

A letter will be sent home with your child on Tuesday 3 February with all relevant information, including permission andparent offer of help return slips. It is imperative these are completed and returned to classroom teachers by Friday 20 February.

By Friday 27 February 50% of the balance, ie $237.50, is required. Payment in full is required no later than Friday 6 March 2026.

Camp Parent Training Evening

A training evening for all those parents attending camp will take place on Wednesday 4 March from 6.30 - 7.30 pm. It is imperativeall those parents/whānau going to campattend this important training evening.
