SEZ Gymnastics

In early June, the Somerville Intermediate gymnastics squad competed at the South Eastern Zone Gymnastics competition held at Howick Gymnastics Club. This year, a record 53 students participated across the Flyers, Twisters, and Competitive divisions.

The team achieved exceptional results, with all teams placing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. Furthermore, every competitive gymnast secured automatic entry to the next round. This means that every single gymnast qualified for the Auckland Championships in August.

The school extends its gratitude to the parents for their incredible support, including those who assisted with transport on the day: Lisa Q, Nik S, Katie U, Brianne B, Shaun G, Emily H, Kylie R, Michael P, Brent M, Kathryn P, and Jennifer T. Special thanks also to Howick College students Lara, Abby, and Jayni for their help with early morning training sessions.
