Mangemangeroa Interschool Planting Day
On Friday 13 June, a group of Eco Warriors took part in the Mangemangeroa Interschool Planting Day, alongside students from Cockle Bay School and Howick College. It was inspiring to see the Tuakana Teina relationships in action, with older students guiding and supporting the younger ones. The incredible Levi shared insights into the history and ecosystem of the Mangemangeroa Reserve, and highlighting the importance of the work ahead.
Despite the occasional shower and muddy conditions, the three schools worked together to plant 150 trees and pot hundreds of seedlings. It was a memorable day and a fantastic opportunity to give back to the community. Special thanks to our parent helper Barbara He for assisting us on the day.
