SEZ/EZ Rugby U55s

Our Under 55kg boys’ rugby team put on a fantastic display at the recent South Eastern/Eastern Zone tournament held at Pakuranga United Rugby Club. We played two pool games, starting with a tough match against Dilworth, followed by a strong win over St Kentigern.

In the semifinal, we faced a well-drilled Sacred Heart team and unfortunately missed out on the final. We then played for 3rd or 4th place against Bucklands Beach Intermediate, in a tough and physical match. The boys dug deep and came away with a hard-fought win, finishing the day in 3rd place overall.

As the top South Eastern Zone team, we qualified for the Auckland Champs – a brilliant achievement! The boys showed outstanding rugby skills and determination, especially with many playing in unfamiliar positions. We are incredibly proud of their effort, resilience, and teamwork.

At the Auckland Champs, they faced very tough competition and it just wasn't their day. Despite the challenges, the boys showed outstanding resilience and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Well done boys!
