Korean & Chinese Speech Competitions

On Thursday 7 August, we held the Korean and Chinese speech competitions. 3 Korean students and 23 Chinese students took part. The overall standard of the speeches far exceeded my expectations. Every student prepared and delivered their speeches very well.

The Korean competition was judged by teachers Andrew Lee and Megan Hoo, and the winner was Chloe C.

The Chinese competition was judged by ESL Teacher, Shan Zhou. All the Year 8 students delivered speeches of outstanding quality — rich in content, fluent in language, and with clear, accurate pronunciation. It was really difficult to decide the winners. After much deliberation, First Place went to Amanda C (Rm 19) and Highly Commended to Grace L (Rm 24), and
Fiona L (Rm 12).

I feel proud of every student who took part. Thank you to teachers Andrew Lee, Megan Hoo, and Shan Zhou for judging the speech competitions.
