SEZ Football - Boys

Year 7
On Tuesday 27 May, the Year 7 boys proudly represented our school at the SEZ Football tournament held at William Green Domain.

The team performed exceptionally well, going through the pool stages undefeated, with four wins and one draw. This strong performance placed us at the top of our pool and set up a semi-final clash against Elim, which we won 2-1.

In the final, we faced BBI - our pool-stage draw opponents. The match was intense and closely contested, remaining tied even after extra time. Ultimately, the result came down to a penalty shootout, which we narrowly lost 2-3.

The boys did a phenomenal job throughout the tournament, not conceding a single goal in regulation or extra time. We finished second overall - an outstanding effort and a testament to the team's skill, determination, and teamwork.

A special thank you to Dean and Nat Knoesen for their invaluable support with coaching and transport on the day, and all the parents who came along to cheer and support the team.

Year 8
The Year 8 Boys' Football team represented our school with pride at the SEZ Football tournament held at William Green Football Turf. Competing in Pool B, the team played strongly throughout the pool games, securing 2 wins, 1 loss, and 3 draws, finishing as runners-up in their pool.

In the semi-final playoff against the winner of Pool A, Bucklands Beach Intermediate, the match ended in a draw, leading to a tense penalty shootout, which unfortunately went in BBI’s favour. The boys then faced St Kent’s in the 3rd/4th playoff, narrowly losing 2–1.

Our school finished 4th overall, with the team showing impressive skill, determination, resilience, and sportsmanship throughout the day. A big thank you to our parent helper, Nilesh Kumar, for his fantastic support on the day.

Well done to all the boys involved – you did us proud!
