SEZ Football - Girls

Year 7
On a crisp and competitive day at the William Green Football fields, our Year 7 Girls' Football team represented Somerville Intermediate with pride and determination at the SEZ Football tournament. With 12 talented girls in the squad, the team played six matches against various schools from across the South Eastern Zone.

Somerville showed fantastic skill, teamwork, and resilience throughout the day, winning five of their six games. Their only loss came in a tough match against the eventual champions, St Kentigern College. Across the tournament, the team scored an impressive 18 goals while conceding just 5, finishing in 2nd place overall.

The team was coached by parent volunteer Mr Scott Clayton, whose dedication and guidance were invaluable, and managed by Mrs Pietersen, who ensured everything ran smoothly behind the scenes. The girls displayed excellent sportsmanship and strong camaraderie, supporting one another on and off the field. Their positive team spirit was a highlight of the day.

Congratulations to all the players for their incredible effort and achievement, you did Somerville proud!
