2026 AIMS Games

What a week it was at AIMS Games 2026!

Somerville Intermediate was once again out in force in Tauranga, with 148 of our students competing across a wide range of sporting codes, with 91 students competing in the individual sports of Badminton, BMX, Cross Country, Golf, Gymnastics, Mountain Biking, Orienteering, Rock Climbing, Swimming, Table Tennis and Tennis. 

From the opening ceremony to the final whistle, our 148 Somerville athletes represented our school with pride, determination, and outstanding sportsmanship in Tauranga.

AIMS Games 2026 was a fantastic celebration of everything sport can offer our students, with every student giving it their all, achieving personal bests and securing strong finishes.  We are incredibly proud of the way our athletes represented Somerville Intermediate, competing hard, supporting one another and embracing every opportunity.

A huge thank you goes to our teachers, coaches, managers, parent helpers and supporters who gave their time and energy to make the week such a memorable experience.

And a very special congratulations to Mrs Lorraine Nicholls, who was awarded the AIMS Games Positive Vibe Award. Her positivity, encouragement and unwavering support throughout the week at gymnastics, was a wonderful reflection of the spirit of our Somerville community.
