SEZ Futsal
Girls
The Somerville Girls’ Futsal team had an excellent tournament, winning all three of their pool games to finish top of their pool. The girls showed great teamwork, determination, and skill throughout the day.
In the cross-pool playoffs, the team faced a strong BBI side and were unable to secure the win, before going on to play FCI for 3rd and 4th place. Although they narrowly missed out on a placing, the girls should be very proud of their efforts and the way they represented Somerville.
A huge thank you to our fantastic coaches/parents, Anmol Shankar and Scott Clayton for all their work in preparing the girls for the tournament.
It was a fantastic learning opportunity, with great development shown by the team throughout the tournament. Well done, girls!

Boys
On Wednesday 6th May, the Futsal boys proudly represented our school at the SEZ Futsal Tournament held at the Auckland Netball Centre.
The team finished pool play with an impressive 3 wins and one draw, securing first place and setting up a semi-final clash with Saint Kentigern. The boys dominated the match, earning a convincing 11-0 victory.
In the final, we came up against Farm Cove. It was an intense battle from the first whistle, but our boys showed grit and determination, coming out on top with a hard-fought 4-2 win to claim first place in the SEZ tournament.
Well done to the boys, the result was well deserved. Thank you also to the parents who came to support on the day, as well as Fynn and Mr Hall for helping out.
