SEZ Swimming

A team of 17 swimmers proudly represented Somerville at the SEZ Swimming Competition held at Lloyd Elsmore Indoor Pool.

It was a fantastic day of racing, with our students demonstrating determination, resilience, and excellent sportsmanship, in a highly competitive environment. All swimmers should be commended for their effort and the way they represented our school both in and out of the pool.

We are especially proud of the following swimmers who achieved top 6 placings:

Year 7 Girls

  • Ashley L – 1st: 50m Freestyle, 50m Breaststroke, 50m Backstroke; 3rd: 100m Open Freestyle & 50m Open Butterfly

  • Zoe W – 3rd: 50m Breaststroke

  • Isha D - 4th: 50m Breaststroke

  • Emily W - 4th: 50m Freestyle

  • Year 7 Girls Freestyle Relay – 1st

Year 8 Girls

  • Jasmine A - 5th: 50m Freestyle, 4th: 50m Backstroke

Year 8 Boys

  • Cavan R – 1st: 50m Breaststroke; 2nd: 50m Backstroke; 3rd: 50m Freestyle, 50m Butterfly

  • Ethan J – 1st: 50m Freestyle; 3rd: 50m Backstroke

  • Kieran H – 2nd: 50m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle

  • Ian LW – 2nd: 50m Breaststroke

  • Matthew Z – 5th: 50m Freestyle

  • Year 8 Boys Freestyle Relay – 1st

  • Open Boys Medley Relay – 1st

A number of our swimmers qualified for the Auckland Championships, which is an outstanding achievement and a reflection of their hard work and commitment.

Thank you to all the parents and supporters who helped on the day and cheered our swimmers on from the sidelines.
