SEZ Tennis

Girls

We had six amazing students who represented Somerville Intermediate at the SEZ Tennis tournament, hosted by us, and held at the Cockle Bay Tennis Centre. They competed in the singles and doubles competition on Wednesday 9th April. 

Mai S and Khloe V represented Somerville in the girls' singles, while Evelyn S and Cassie C teamed up together, as well as Izzy Q and Allegra P, to represent Somerville as our doubles team.

Our girls had an awesome day and we were lucky enough to have some great weather conditions. The day was filled with some tough competition but excellent tennis skills and superb sportsmanship.

Evelyn S and Cassie C, our doubles team, played great throughout their matches and ended up placing 4th overall. Izzy Q and Allegra P also played incredibly well and placed 5th overall for the day. Mai S and Khloe V played well in our singles, placing 5th and 8th overall for the day.

It was a fantastic day, where we celebrated some great tennis. Very proud of all our girls who played - Well done!! 

Boys

Somerville Intermediate was proudly represented at the South Eastern Zone Boys Tennis Tournament held on Tuesday 29 August. Leo W and DeLong V competed in the singles division, while Daniel H, Nicholas L, Yuri K and Brian Z played in the doubles division.

Both singles players performed exceptionally well, with Leo and DeLong facing off in a closely contested 3rd/4th playoff match. Leo came away with the win, securing a well-deserved 3rd place overall. In the doubles division, Team 1 (Nicholas and Daniel) and Team 2 (Yuri and Brian) also battled it out in the 3rd/4th place final, with Nicholas and Daniel finishing in 3rd place.

The day was filled with high-level tennis, outstanding sportsmanship, and fierce competition. It was a pleasure to watch our players compete with such determination and respect on the court.
