Athletics Day
Monday 2 November
Two Programmes - One School Event
This year, our Athletics Day will operate a little differently, with two programmes running on the same day. Students who have qualified as competitive athletes will attend the offsite Athletics Day at Lloyd Elsmore, while all other students will take part in an at-school Athletics Day programme. This means that all students will be participating in Athletics Day, with the programme differing, depending on whether they have qualified for the competitive offsite event.
Qualifiers Athletics
Students who have qualified for the competitive athletics programme will represent the school at the Lloyd Elsmore athletics track. This event is weather dependent. Students will travel by bus, departing school at approximately 8.40 am and returning at around 2.45 pm.
A detailed letter, including informed consent information and a request for parent helpers, was sent home with qualifying students. If you have not yet returned the informed consent form, please ensure it is signed and returned by Thursday 22 October.
Students attending Lloyd Elsmore will need morning tea, lunch, a large bottle of water, a light raincoat and sunscreen to reapply throughout the day. To view the timetable of events, please see below.
At-School Athletics
Students who are not attending the competitive event at Lloyd Elsmore will take part in our at-school Athletics Day programme. Year 7 and Year 8 students will participate in separate sessions across the day, competing in a range of athletics-based team activities within their Whānau.
Students involved in the at-school event will need their PE gear, sports shoes, school hat, morning tea, lunch, a large bottle of water, and sunscreen to reapply throughout the day.
This approach ensures that all students are able to participate in and engage with Athletics Day, whether competing at Lloyd Elsmore or taking part in the at-school programme. We look forward to a fantastic day.
