Pink Shirt Day
Somerville Intermediate School is joining the Pink Shirt Day movement on Friday 16 May and encouraging our staff and students to Kōrero Mai, Kōrero Atu, Mauri Tū, Mauri Ora –
Speak up, Stand Together, Stop Bullying!
Pink Shirt Day works to reduce bullying by celebrating diversity in all its forms and supporting schools, workplaces and communities to be safe, supportive, welcoming and inclusive for everyone.
To celebrate this important kaupapa, we are inviting students to come to school wearing a pink shirt instead of their uniform top to show support for the movement.
This is a one-off event in support of this important initiative and is not considered a usual non school uniform day. There is therefore no cost to students to wear a pink shirt or top on Friday 16 May.
