SEZ Tag

Girls

On Wednesday 27th March, the Somerville Girls Tag Rugby Team travelled to the AAIMS NZTFI Tag Tournament. This was a combination of both the South Eastern Zone and Eastern Zone. This meant they had 14 Girls teams competing to qualify for the Champion of Champions.

It was a fierce competition and the girls showcased their awesome sportsmanship, perseverance and integrity, to come away with 2nd place in South Eastern Zone. Well done girls!

Boys

The Somerville Boys Tag Rugby team has reason to celebrate after coming 1st place at the SEZ tournament, held before Easter. The team showed great resilience, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the competition.

Throughout the tournament, the team faced challenges in tightly contested matches. Yet, they demonstrated remarkable cohesion, using their collective skills to overcome their opponents, often clinching victories in the closing minutes of the game.

The boys proudly represented the SEZ schools at the Auckland Champs on Wednesday 3rd April. The tournament was fiercely competitive, with each match closely contested. Despite narrowly missing the opportunity to compete for the top four positions, the boys showcased their talent and determination, securing a commendable 7th place finish.

We are incredibly proud of the Somerville Tag Rugby team's performance and congratulate them on their achievement.
