We have been fortunate to secure the use of Camp Raglan for Weeks 2 and 3 of Term 2. As our previous Year 8 EOTC experience of a marae noho is unavailable this year, this is an excellent opportunity to give the children a wonderful EOTC experience.

Camp Raglan offers us the use of their camp and activities of which we have selected a few that we feel will encourage students to challenge themselves, as well as, build communication and teamwork skills.

We have also managed to secure Raglan Surf School and Raglan Surf Life Saving Club to give our students a variety of activities including; surf and water safety, surf life saving skills and basic surf lessons. Both of these groups provide all the necessary equipment, appropriate ratios of instructors to students and safety procedures to ensure the wellbeing of our students. They are very experienced at working with school groups and able to cater for different levels of knowledge and confidence.

Also, part of the experience is a visit to Poihakena Marae in Raglan. The marae is arranging a selection of authentic experiences for our students to help them gain greater cultural understanding and our hosts will also share their knowledge about the history of the area.

An information evening for parents will held on Thursday 5th April at 7pm in the school hall and this will last approximately an hour.
