ICT CLASSES
Welcome to Term One at Somerville Intermediate.
The Technology Curriculum places a strong emphasis on working to a design brief and completing a product within a set timeframe.
Both year seven and eight students will work on projects that will require them to use ICT tools to create products.
Students will be involved in:
- Programming
(Students learn how modify their own learning environment.)
- Data Filtering
(Students learn how to create their own search journeys.)
- Using their connectivity
(Students learn how to work collaboratively.)
- Maximizing Hardware
(Students learn how to maximise the ICT tools available to them.)
This term the Year Eight students are developing digital backpacks using wikispaces. They have set up personal wikispaces on the internet and are gathering web based tools that will support their learning anywhere and anytime.
You are welcome to visit the sisdigitalbackpack and explore how the students are learning to use the internet to meet the vision of the New Zealand Curriculum. To become life long learners, actively involved, confident and connected.
