Health

First Aid and Illness at School
First aid is dispensed by teachers and office staff as required.
Parents are notified of accidents in more serious cases and will be contacted if a child is ill at school.
It is important that our record of home, work, cellphone, doctor and other emergency numbers is current. Please advise the school promptly of any changes.
Please advise the school of any health problems your child may experience which were not advised on enrolment.
Children should not be sent to school when they are feeling unwell.
Parents will be called to care for the child.

Health Rooms
Situated next to the main office, these rooms are used for treatment of minor injuries and for injured or ill students to rest while their parents are contacted. We discourage students from spending extended time in the health room. If ill, students should be cared for at home.

Allergies, Asthma etc
Records are kept of students who require special or immediate attention for allergy or illness. Should your child require such attention please ensure you supply the school with all necessary information, antidotes or medication.

Dental Clinic
No dental treatment is available on site. Students are treated at Shelly Park Primary School.

Absence and Lateness

Somerville Intermediate operates a “check safe” system. If your child is going to be late or absent, please contact the school in order to assist the effective operation of this system.

Phone 535 1070 and leave a message on the answer phone or email office@somint.school.nz
