The year 7 programme is mainly skills based, with an emphasis on safety, use of equipment and hygiene. The technological process is introduced to the students and developed more in year 8.

The year 8 programme focuses more on the technological process with the students being more involved in the planning of what they will be making. A unit of work is also done on bio–technology.
