Facilities at Somerville Intermediate

A large intermediate school that has a student population of approximately 950 - 1000 children throughout the year, Somerville Intermediate boasts many excellent facilities for the students to use and support the teaching and learning.

A school hall that seats 500, a multi-purpose gymnasium that seats 1000+ are two of the largest spaces at Somerville Intermediate in which students and the community can gather.

A spacious library, purpose built science lab, music suite, performing arts centre, advancement and enrichment classrooms (LEAP centre), hard materials and visual arts classroom, elearning suites and food technology room and a full suite of computers all designed to support the graphics and programme are some of the fantastic teaching and learning spaces here at Somerville Intermediate. Coupled with the homeroom classrooms, these learning spaces ensure that Somerville Intermediate is well-equipped to meet the learning needs of our students and equip well them for life and for the college years.

At Somerville Intermediate, students enjoy 5.3ha of recreation space. Full size all weather astro turf for hockey, netball, soccer and other sports is available for student use as are two full-size rugby and soccer fields. Somerville Intermediate is also home to a multi-purpose gymnasium in which students enjoy badminton, netball and an Olympic sized basketball court.
