Steps to become an international student at Somerville Intermediate:
Step 1
International student wants to enrol and enrolment forms and information is given out.
Step 2
Confirm student's international status.
Please note: It is the responsibility of the caregiver/agent to ensure that all documentation is completed to enable the child to attend school.
Step 3
Appointment made with International Student Co-Ordinator to check documentation when completed.
Step 4
Offer of place is posted to applicant or agent.
Step 5
Appointment made with International Student Co-Ordinator to organise payment of fees.
Step 6
Once all documentation required is completed and fees paid, the student is enrolled at the school and the confirmation letter for Immigration is given.
Step 7
Student arrives at school for integration into the classroom.
Note:
It is the responsibility of the caregiver/agent to ensure that all documentation is completed to enable the child to attend school. The Education Act allows an international student to attend school for up 3 months while the visa is being processed. After this time, the student will not be able to continue attending school until the student visa has been granted, sighted and photocopied by our school office. In cases where the appropriate documentation has not been organised within the 3 month period, and a child is unable to attend school, no refund will be given.
